Morrow Bay Part II
That was the coldest and bumpiest night I ever spent anywhere. The ground was pretty hard and it was cold and miserable. But the worse part was all the bumps in the ground. I wish I had an air mattress like everyone else had.
Everyone left around 7:00 am to go to the race, where we just kind of slept in. There were no hot water, so we all quickly hosed ourself and head off to the festival.
At the festival, Peter and I started with a Strawberry short cake (got to eat strawberry at the Strawberry festival!) and then teamed up with Tad, Janett, and Heidi for a quick recon on the food situation. I settled on the corn and a trip tip sandwich. I over ate as usual. Then one of the kids mentioned that there is a petting zoo somewhere. I love petting zoos, so I head off with the kids to the petting zoo.
When we got there, there were no petting zoo, but a creepy clown. The kids seem to love the clown, so we sat and hung out and watch the kids play. I don’t much enjoy clowns, but this clown was pretty popular with the kids.
After sitting in the sun, we went back to the camp site for some R&R. I pretty much sat in the tent and read my In Touch magazine reading about latest trauma Brittany put her kids through. It was so nice an warm I took a nice little nap.
Then it’s time to eat again. This time Ernie made hamburgers and hot dogs. It was the best hamburgers I have ever had for a while.
Then a few of us stayed up all night in front of the camp file talking about American Idol. There’s nothing like talking about TV to bring a group together. We talked about all sort of reality shows we watched. It was so much fun, I have not laughed so much!
