Morrow Bay Day 1
We got up around 9:30 am and went in search of a breakfast place. We had 2 choices, a cafe across the street or McDonalds (yum... Sausage Egg McMuffin..) across the street. Peter vetoed me on the McDonalds so we went to the cafe. We should have gone to McDonalds.
Anyway, after breakfast we started on our road trip to Morrow bay. In true road trip fashion, we stopped by a small town with the population of 400. It reminded me a little bit of that movie Children of the Corn. It’s a nice town with one store that doubles as a grocery store/pool hall/arcade. We got our soda/water and kept on driving.
We arrived at the camp site and started to look for #75 to #76. It was a nice camp site, except there were some rowdy kids about. One of the kids was playing chicken with us. He would try to ram us and the ride away laughing. He also did this to several people in the camp site, at the point I almost asked Peter to just run him over for a cool 10 points. I also saw a kid using a magnifying glass toasting a marshmallow, pretty ingenious if you ask me. I have to try it sometime.
Anyway! After we got our camp sit all sit up, we went to this local museum that was pretty nice. I had to fight the urge to pet the exhibit (Sea otter... soooo soft....). Then we came back to the site where Tito cooked a fantastic BBQ beef. It was so good I went back for 3rds.
Tad’s brother had promised to bring the S’mores, so the whole time the kids were asking about it. We made s’mores after dinner and chatted at the camp site. We all decided to go to bed early because some of the people are running the 5K race.
It was a fun filled none stop food munching day!
